Giving Voice Committee

Student Life

The idea for Giving Voice began in 2016. Melany Hunt, a professor of mechanical engineering at Caltech, outlined the ideas and goals for the project as part of the "broader impacts" of a proposal to the National Science Foundation on multiphase flows. That proposal (NSF 1706166) was awarded in the fall of 2017 and provides some basic funding for the project. Since the awarding of the grant, a wide range of individuals at Caltech have helped to craft the message. The project has grown with financial support through the Office of Student Affairs (the Title IX Office and the Theater Arts Program) and the Deborah Doyle McWhinney Student Experience Fund.
